seed saving
Keep the healthiest fruit on the plant. When the fruit ceases to grow, or the rest of the plant dies off, harvest the fruit. Break fruit open and scoop out seeds. For small fruits or berries you can crush the fruit into a pulp. With clean hands wash the seeds, agitating the water to remove any of the outer membrane. Discard any seeds that float to the surface. Throw away the water and repeat the process.
Place the seeds on paper towel, 1 to 2 cm apart and leave to dry in a warm ventilated spot, window sills are ideal. Once dry cut up paper with seeds still attached and store in airtight jars until the right season for planting. Drying can take 2-3 weeks to ensure seeds are thoroughly dry. Plant still attached with paper.
